Gangtok Lachung Tour Overview

Your journey begins in Gangtok, a hill town known for its scenic landscapes, historic monasteries, and warm hospitality. With a full day here, you'll explore Tsomgo Lake, sitting at an elevation of 3,753 metres and known for changing colour with the seasons — considered sacred by locals and home to species like the Brahminy duck and red panda. You'll also visit Baba Mandir, a revered shrine near the Nathu La border.
From Gangtok, the route to Lachung passes through some of Sikkim's finest viewpoints — Singhik View Point, Seven Sisters Waterfall, and Naga Waterfall — before arriving in this scenic mountain village known for snow-capped peaks, gushing streams, and apple and apricot orchards.
The undisputed highlight of the trip is Yumthang Valley, the "Valley of Flowers," sitting at 3,564 metres. Home to the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary with over 24 rhododendron species, and fed by a tributary of the Teesta River, Yumthang is one of Sikkim's most photographed landscapes. You'll also stop at a natural hot spring believed to have medicinal properties, and on the return journey, take in the Bheema and Twin Waterfalls.
